LPN LEADERSHIP 2013-2014
Donna Schafer, President, has been a member of LPN since 2009,
and is currently Membership Chair for the NorCal Chapter.
She is also Executive Director of the National Association for Professional Gerontologists
and brings outstanding nonprofit leadership and strategic planning skills to LPN.
Deb Abel, Finance/Governance, is the founder of Abel Advisory,
which provides ongoing financial planning and investment services to individuals and families. She is a Certified Financial Planner®,
a Registered Investment Advisor, and is licensed to offer securities and insurance in California. She is a NorCal LPN member.
Bruce Frankel, Communications/Clerk, is a writer, editor, speaker, and editorial consultant.
He is the author of What Should I do with the Rest of my Life?.
Bruce was a senior writer at People magazine, and a national news reporter for USA Today. He is a member of LPN New England.
Joyce Cohen, Professional Affairs, has built a profession around career development, mid-life transitions,
life coaching (all levels including executive), encore careers, mentoring, retention/enagement and outplacement.
She trains and consults with Unconventional Wisdom and with established consulting firms in multiple industries.
Joyce is a member of New England LPN.
Sara Zeff Geber, Program Chair, is founder and president of
Life Encore, and a specialist in the field of planning for the next phase of life,
with a focus on the 55+ age group. Sara's professional roots are in organizational psychology.
In her current work she has shifted her understanding of human behavior and personal style to helping people channel
their experience, style, personality, and personal goals to a satisfying choice of a post-career lifestyle or 55+ job shift. She is a NorCal LPN member.
Chuck Yanikoski, Chapter Affairs,
is the founder of RetirementWorks, Inc.,
which provides retirement planning software that covers financial and non-financial concerns for people age 50 and up,
and, Still River Retirement Planning Software, which serves financial advisors and institutions.
Chuck is also the co-chair of LPN’s New England chapter.
Meg Newhouse, Past President, is the Founding President of the Life Planning Network and has been actively involved since 2003.
She is a nationally-known pioneer in Third-Age LifeCrafting and a seasoned group facilitator,
teacher, coach, and program designer. She considers herself a catalyst for living with passion, purpose and grace after 50, and is focusing most of her attention on writing
and workshops/presentations on the topic of Legacy, which is intimately connected with discovering who you are and what you want to leave behind throughout the second half of life.
